Colourization

Black & white photography was the medium of the day in the Clifford Pennock era. Black and white photography removes any distraction of colour and helps the viewer focus on other aspects of the photo, such as the subject, the textures, shapes and patterns, and the composition.  Pennock masterfully brought his subjects to life, often with just a hint of mystique or whimsy.

This photo of farmers plying their trade at gathering hay perfectly depicts their labour; however, the monochromatic palette is unable to capture the subtle variances of the scene.

Note the difference in attention demanded by the colourized, remastered photograph. Colourization can breathe new life into old or faded black & white photos.  It provides a genuine representation of the original scene, delivering a realistic experience, and immersing the viewer in history, allowing them to connect with the past on a deeper level.
