For this photo, Pennock is in front of the camera, in the  centre of the back row, surrounded by five other fishermen. They could be his personal friends, or more likely guests at the Opinacon Club, where this photo was taken. Notice the man in the centre of the front row, wearing a captain’s hat. He seems to have a hook prosthesis on his left arm, probably due to a farming, workplace, or war injury.

The gentlemen beside Pennock are dressed rather formally, white shirt, tie, as is Pennock, and one is even wearing a suit jacket. The two lads in the front are casually dressed. Could it be they are guides?
